BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) — Though it’s something many Beaufort County educators said they hope to never have to put to use, many are taking steps to learn what to do in a medical emergency.
Around 10 people made up of staff, teachers and after-school caretakers with the Beaufort County School District made their way to Lady’s Island Middle School today to participate in a first responder training class.
When asked why they were eager to take the class, Latoya Johnson, an after-school teacher answered, “Just to, you know, have the knowledge of CPR and drug training and blood. Just to be informed about it”
The group of educators gained that knowledge through a first responder training program sponsored by the Burton Fire District.
