QUINCY (WGEM) - The Community Foundation and the Tracy Family Foundation are holding a program for high school students in Quincy to learn more about philanthropy and grantmaking.

Catherine Meckes, Community Foundation CEO, said the free program is open for students at Quincy High School, Quincy Notre Dame, and homeschoolers in Quincy. She said the program will teach students about non-profits in the community and philanthropy.

“So, we’ll meet once a month for an hour and starting off very basic, what’s a non-profit, what’s philanthropy, what values drive your decision making when you decide to give back,” Meckes said. “And then, leading all the way up in the spring to how to evaluate and decide where you’re going to give.”
