QUINCY (WGEM) - On Sept. 13, you can adopt a rubber duck (or perhaps a flock of them), drop them off the Quinsippi bridge, and race them.

Cash prizes will be available to the top three winners. Other activities featured throughout the day will include rubber duck painting, yoga, live music, food trucks and more.

“We wanted to bring people to the riverfront,” said Tierney Craig with the Quincy Riverfront Development Corporation. “It’s really just a front door to Quincy! So to get people down here, we’ve created this family event.”

Craig said proceeds from the Duck Race and Family Fest event will go toward a installing a splash pad on the riverfront.

“This is kind of two-fold,” Craig said. “Getting people down here and putting that money back toward the splash pad.”
