BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - It’s back to school time in Maine.

Heading back to the classroom can be stressful for some kids.

“Some anxiety during a time of transition from summer to school is really normal, right? So, we expect it to be a little bit disrupted a lot of times,” said Dr. David Prescott, a clinical psychologist.

Doctor David Prescott says stress can show up in a couple of different ways for kids.

Some may simply tell you they don’t want to go to school while others may feel physical symptoms like headaches or stomach aches.

“Often times, if your kid raises a concern, or if you have a concern, you want to ask your question and then just stop and let your kid talk,” Dr.Prescott said.
