AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) - Auburn Police, with help from the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Task Force, have arrested a Montgomery man in connection with a February shooting that left one man dead.
Mardrekus Ja Quan Lee, 23, was taken into custody Thursday, August 28, 2025, on felony warrants charging him with murder and first-degree robbery.
The charges stem from a Feb. 15 incident on the 4300 block of Golf Club Drive, where officers found a 33-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators say Lee knew the victim and the attack was not random.
The victim was treated at the scene and hospitalized for more than a month before dying in late March.
