FULTONDALE, Ala. —

Firefighters were able to put out a large fire at a home in Fultondale on Thursday.

Just after noon Fultondale Fire and Rescue crews responded to heavy flames at the house in the 1200 block of Sixth Avenue.

The fire started in the front of the house and crews arrived quickly and were able to contain it and bring it under control within a short time, according to the fire department.

All of the people inside were able to get out safely before firefighters arrived.

No injuries were reported.

There could be damage to as much as 50 percent of the home, but an assessment by the fire marshal will determine that, according to the fire chief.
