HOOVER, Ala. —

Just days after the catholic school shooting in Minneapolis, other schools across Central Alabama are standing in solidarity with the families and community members who lost loved ones. Staff at Prince of Peace Catholic School in Hoover said the shooting in Minneapolis is a tragedy and one that hits especially close to home. While the school president said he’s not nervous about a shooting at the school, it’s always a possibility.

President Kelly Doss said the safety of its students is a top priority. The school has many safety plans in place to keep staff and students safe including security cameras, a school resource officer from the Hoover Police Department and even going through active shooter drills with students.
