LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The mural program that brings art to downtown buildings will continue for the rest of the year.

The Downtown Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) board members reported that the project has received significant positive feedback, with new artists expressing interest in joining.

The total budget for the murals is $50,000, and three projects have already been completed. According to board members, the remaining funds should be sufficient to finance up to two more murals.

According to Jose Ceballos with TIRZ, “My interest is to open it up to more artists, and I think with the second one going up, I think we’re going to see even more interest and hopefully more diversity. I think everyone was excited about the fence.“
