The Holter Museum of Art in Helena is hosting its first “Rock the Block” Art Fair on Saturday to end the summer season with community activities and local artist showcases.
The fair will begin with a rededication ceremony at 5 p.m. of the Red Shift Rocker, a sculpture by Helena artist Richard Swanson on the southeast lawn of the museum.
It was commissioned by Joan Holter in 2005. At the ceremony, the sculpture will receive a new coat of paint, more lighting and signage, and will be raised 18 inches with a new slab of concrete. These improvements are funded through the city of Helena’s Downtown Tax Increment Financing Grant. The sculpture will be updated by All Around Construction and Hjelm’s Auto Body. This ceremony is free and open to the public.
The art fair activities start at 5:30 p
