What began as a simple floor repair turned into a full-scale renovation project for Jeffersonville High School students. They're learning the ins and outs of construction, teamwork, and community service, all while rebuilding their school’s concession stand.
Gary Solomon, the school’s building trades teacher, said the project started when he was approached about redoing the floor. But once they stepped inside, they realized it needed far more work.
"Once we got in here, we saw that it needed more than just a floor," Solomon explained. "So my students took it upon themselves to want to sit there and renovate the entire thing and get the practical experience."
Students broke into teams, each leading a different phase of the project — from demolition to painting to
