LOVES PARK, Ill. — The Winnebago County State's Attorney announced that the use of force by five officers during a shooting incident earlier this year was justified.
After a months-long investigation by the Winnebago-Boone County Integrity Task Force, Winnebago County State's Attorney J. Hanley says he will not charge any of the five officers, three from the Loves Park Police Dept., one from the Rockford Police Dept., and one from the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, and declared that their actions were reasonable and lawful.
