This is what I’m thinking:

Even without Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen playing a down, the NFL team’s preseason ratings were a huge hit no matter the results, the time they were played or which local station carried them.

The Bills’ 38-0 loss to the host Chicago Bears on Aug. 17 had a 24.4 rating on WUTV, the local Fox affiliate. The game was carried nationally on Fox.

The Bills’ 23-19 victory over Tampa Bay on Saturday had a 20.0 rating on WIVB-TV (Channel 4), the local CBS affiliate.

You might have thought the Bills win would have drawn more viewers than their embarrassing loss.

Presumably, the lower rating for the Saturday night victory over the Sunday night embarrassing loss is explained by more people going out on Saturday nights away from their televisions than on Sunday
