BOONVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Boonville city leaders held a ribbon cutting today to celebrate the completion of a park project.
The park features a brand new splash pad, playground equipment, a basketball court and more.
The project cost $3.5 million to complete and has been in the works since 2023.
Boonville Mayor Charlie Wyatt says he could not be happier, and the new park greatly improves the city lake area.
“It’s been a labor of love. A lot of people, City Lake, they often refer to it as the jewel of the city of Boonville. And there’s a lot of people that still feel that way about it,” Mayor Wyatt says.
There are still a few pieces left to install in the park due to manufacturing delays, but the park is open and ready for use.
