BLUE HILL — The Blue Hill Fair is back for Labor Day weekend, continuing a tradition that’s been running for more than 130 years.
The annual fair features dozens of rides, food vendors, games and live entertainment. True to its roots, the fair pays homage to “Charlotte’s Web,” the classic story written by Blue Hill native E.B. White. Visitors can meet real-life versions of Wilbur and his barnyard friends throughout the weekend.
This year, the fair is also serving as the backdrop for a short film being shot by a husband-and-wife team with local ties. The film will be screened at festivals across the country, including the Tribeca Film Festival next summer.
They said the film follows a young goat farmer from Athens that brings his goats to the fair to compete.
