CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — UVA Health is planning a major expansion at its South Tower to meet growing demand for critical care, from cancer patients to critically ill newborns.
The South Tower expansion project will add dozens of new beds and family-centered spaces to the hospital, including 47 additional beds in the neonatal intensive care unit. Leaders say the expansion is designed to ensure that more patients can receive care closer to home.
