LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - With construction and upcoming long-term detours on I-10 Westbound at the Calcasieu River Bridge, many Lake Charles residents are wondering when lane closures on the I-210 Bridge will end.

Since March, crews have been installing new lighting and making electrical repairs and upgrades on the bridge as part of an $8 million project. Due to the construction, the left westbound lane has been closed, causing daily traffic congestion across I-210 Westbound.

We asked for an update on the project. DOTD Spokesperson John Guidroz said it’s anticipated to be complete by early September.

“The contractor is currently working on pulling, testing, and terminating conductors for the new lighting. Weather permitting, this work should be complete next week,” Guidroz said.
