SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Sioux Falls Fire Rescue is investigating a structure fire that happened just south of the Empire Mall on Thursday.
Just after 4:00 p.m., units responded to a call of a fire in the 4400 block of West Valhalla Boulevard.
From there, crews found heavy smoke in the hallway of the third floor of the apartment building.
The fire was quickly extinguished and ventilation efforts began in order to clear the smoke from the building.
All occupants safely exited the building and no other injuries to firefighters were reported. The fire and smoke caused moderate damage to the apartment.
The case of the fire is under investigation.
