O'BRIEN COUNTY, Iowa -- One person was injured when his truck went up in flames after colliding with a semi in northwest Iowa.
At around 2:28 p.m. on Thursday the Iowa State Patrol and several other agencies responded to a report of a collision involving a pickup truck and a semi at the intersection of NW Boulevard and Highway 60, just northeast of Sheldon.
According to an ISP crash report, a Dodge Ram was stopped at a stop sign of the intersection, proceeded east through the intersection, and failed to yield to a semi that was traveling southbound on Highway 60. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.
The impact sent the Dodge Ram into the southwest ditch where it caught fire, the crash report states. The semi came to rest on the west shoulder.
