PHOENIX — A grand jury has indicted the Phoenix student who allegedly stabbed a classmate to death for first-degree murder, a dangerous class 1 felony.
Chris Aguilar, a student at Maryvale High School in Phoenix, allegedly stabbed fellow student Michael Montoya, 16, in the middle of class. Police said a pocket knife was used in the stabbing. After the attack, police said Aguilar ran out of the classroom and dropped the knife.
According to court documents, the grand jurors accuse Aguilar of "intending or knowing that his conduct would cause death, with premeditation, did cause the death of" Montoya on Aug. 19. Aguilar will be facing charges as an adult.
