STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. -- Firefighters are working to control a wildfire burning near Colville on Thursday afternoon, according to Department of Natural Resources.
As of Thursday morning, the 25-acre 'Grande Fire' burning south of Uncle Sam Mountain, about 12 miles north of Colville is 0% contained.
The fire broke out on August 25 and was ignited by a lightning strike.
DNR said 137 fire crew members are working to establish and develop fire lines.
On Thursday, crews are patrolling the fire's perimeter and keeping an eye out for spot fires.
No evacuations are in place at this time.
