GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WKRG) — Two Lucedale residents have been arrested after leading George County Sheriff's Office deputies on a chase.

According to a release from the GCSO, deputies attempted to stop a car driving on Don Barton Road on Thursday, Aug. 28, at around 1 a.m.

The driver did not stop, leading deputies on a 30-minute pursuit, while a passenger was reportedly throwing items out of the window. After spike strips were successfully deployed, the car came to a stop.

Michael H. Sutton, 43, was identified as the driver, while Michelle L. Hile, 42, was identified as the passenger. After searching the vehicle, deputies recovered multiple firearms, controlled substances, jewelry, and coins, the release said.
