SPOKANE, Wash. – "The Wall That Heals," a traveling tribute to Vietnam veterans, had its opening ceremony in Spokane. The wall was escorted by motorcycle riders from Spokane Tribe Resort and Casino.
This traveling replica honors more than three million Americans who served in the Vietnam War. It lists the names of 58,281 individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.
Vietnam veteran John Gomez emphasized the importance of the wall to the public.
"Yes, definitely the public is welcome... I'm sure a lot of families that come out here... Even though they might have known someone that was lost... Even if they haven't... It's good for them to come out and realize... what happened during that time," Gomez said.
