MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department is investigating an accident involving a person being struck by a vehicle late Thursday night.

At 8:09 p.m., MPD responded to a traffic accident where a pedestrian was struck at Macon Road and Waring Road, near the Gaisman Community Center.

Officers located a man who was transported in critical condition to the hospital.

Police say the driver is still at the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.
