A Joliet man was arrested Thursday after leading suburban police on a high-speed pursuit that prompted a soft lockdown at three schools.

Raymond D. Martinez, 33, was arrested Thursday and is facing multiple charges, including aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer, resisting or obstructing a police officer and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Martinez was also arrested on a Will County arrest warrant for Failure to Appear on a pending domestic battery court case, authorities said.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Joliet police were on the lookout for a silver Mazda that was reported stolen out of Chicago earlier in the day. Officers located the vehicle near Black Road and Route 59 and began to follow it northbound on River Road.
