The City of Moberly announced Thursday it is adding a crossing arm to the westbound lane of Norfolk Southern Railroad at Coates Street.

According to a Facebook post from the city, the crossing arm will help keep drivers from stopping between the two sets of tracks. Due to the new equipment location, Moulton Street will reportedly become a one-way street going north from Coats Street to Farror Street.

During the project, the city said it will also build new sidewalks along Coates Street, and the railroad will get new guardrails.

Once construction is completed, the City of Moberly said pain angled parking spaces along the part of Moulton Street that used to be the southbound lane of traffic.

The city said it expects the project to be completed in early December.
