BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Crews from several agencies have rescued a horse that became stuck in mud in rural Boulder County on Thursday.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office said at around 1:08 p.m. Thursday, dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a horse was immersed in mud and stuck in the 6200 block of Plateau Road.

The sheriff's office said the property owner discovered that his horse, an adult warmblood mare named Sweetie, was trapped in the mud. When he tried to free her, he also became stuck and called for help. A neighbor responded and called 911.

Responders from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office Animal Protection Unit, the Emergency Services Unit, Boulder Fire Rescue, Boulder Rural Fire Rescue and the Boulder Emergency Squad worked together to safely free the horse, according
