LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The University of Kentucky is marking a major milestone, reaching the halfway point of construction on what’s set to be the largest facility on the university’s campus.

Thursday, leaders met to mark the milestone.

The final beam has been set, taking the future of health education and healthcare in the commonwealth to new heights.

The skeleton of the Michael D. Rankin, MD Health Education Building is complete, two years ahead of its full completion in 2027.

This structure alone will increase UK’s training capacity by up to 1,200 students, radically changing health education in the state.
