ENFIELD, Conn. — Parents and students in Enfield say the first day of school was chaotic.

Not only do students claim their bus never showed... parents say their children are being told its okay to walk to a school bus stop on roads without sidewalks.

John James is a father to a nine-year-old student in the Enfield school district. He says instead of the bus stop being in front of their home like it has in previous years, his daughter must walk along their busy road to get to the bus stop.

“It's just an unsafe road for my daughter to be walking on, especially this side of the road. As you see, we're so close to the white line here. People fly up down this road all day,” James said.

That’s just one of the many reasons James doesn't want his daughter Madison walking on South Road.
