LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — It's been five years since gas prices were as low as they are now, leading up to Labor Day weekend across the country.

"It's pretty exciting, it's exciting to see that there's a bit of change going on, I think gas has definitely been a big toll on myself and a lot of others,” said Greg Snyder of Jefferson Township.

According to GasBuddy, a company that finds the cheapest gas in an area, the national average price of gas for the Labor Day weekend in 2021 was $3.16. Now, the national average is a cent lower, good news for folks spending this weekend on the road.

"We do have a couple of things planned, me and the family, we're going to go out for a bit of a nature adventure, so we got a bit of driving planned,” said Snyder.
