NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Hopefully you enjoyed a break from the humidity over the past few days. Moisture and humidity are quickly moving back in to the region and it will set the stage for a relatively unsettled pattern through the Labor Day weekend.
A large trough sits over the eastern U.S. while a ridge holds to the west, keeping our area in a northwest flow pattern. Storms are already developing in the northern areas Thursday evening and that zone will continue to linger over the region through Sunday.
Storms could produce some gusty winds but the main threat will be localized heavy rain that could lead to some street flooding issues.
