HOOVER, Ala. —
A child died after being found unresponsive in a pool at a Hoover residence.
The Hoover Police Department said their officers and Hoover Fire Department personnel were called to the 2000 block of River Lake Drive at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30.
First responders found a child unresponsive in the pool, police said.
Medics attempted to revive the child, but the boy died after arriving at Children's Hospital.
The coroner's office identified the child as Greyson Maiden, 8.
Hoover Police said the cause of the drowning is under investigation, but no criminal activity is suspected and the incident is being investigated as a tragic accident.
