BOONVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Boonville city officials broke ground Thursday on a $19 million dollar city pool project.

They’re hopeful the aquatic center will not only serve the city, but also those throughout all of Warrick county as well.

An Olympic-sized pool, two water slides, and a 10,000 square foot pavilion are just some of the amenities in the works for Boonville’s new city pool project.

“It’s a great feeling, we’ve been working on it for the last year, year and a half with GM Development and the city of Boonville,” Senior Project Manager Clint Crocker said. “It’s going to be a great thing for the city.”

It’s an expansion of the old public pool, Richard’s, that’s been closed since 2023 due to a faulty chlorine delivery system.
