EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - An Evansville woman is facing drunk driving charges after a crash that sent one person to the hospital.

Evansville Police says 26-year-old Najah Mitchell was driving west in the 2000 block of Morgan Avenue and attempted to switch lanes into the right lane, hitting the victim who was riding a scooter.

That was at 2:38 a.m. Sunday.

Officers say the victim had a possible broken arm, broken teeth, a large laceration on their head, and had lost consciousness.

Police say Mitchell admitted to having a two beers before getting on the road.

Mitchell was swaying and slurring her speech, EPD says.

According to officers, Mitchell failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .116 based on a portable breathalyzer test.
