UPPER MERION — Quentin West touched the ball three times Thursday night and three times he celebrated in the end zone.
Wissahickon’s senior wide receiver caught three passes for 73 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-28 non-league win over Upper Merion at Upper Merion Area High School.
“He’s a playmaker,” Wissahickon coach Rory Graver said. “He can score any time he touches the ball.”
West got the scoring started on just the fourth play from scrimmage. After Wissahickon linebacker Quasir Sampson grabbed an interception on the first play of the game, quarterback Evan Tolmie found West for a 16-yard score on 3rd-and-9 to give the Trojans (2-0) an early edge.
“We have a really tight connection,” West said of his quarterback, who was making his second varsity start. “We played together ever
