SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — This Saturday, you'll be able to take an adoptable shelter dog at Best Friends Animal Society's Sugarhouse Shelter for a day trip.

"Adventure Buddy Day" is Saturday, August 30 in Salt Lake City, and you can take out an adoptable dog for the day to give them an adventure, or a nice day at home with some cuddles.

It's a day for dogs to get out of the shelter and spend some quality time with a human companion. You can visit the Best Friends location in Sugarhouse (2005 S 1100 E) between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to borrow a dog for the day.

According to a press release, Best Friends is hoping to get every eligible dog out on an outing or a sleepover, so dogs will be available on a first come, first served basis. You don't have to pre-register, but it's probably a good idea
