MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an apparent swatting incident on Thursday.

According to a Facebook post, authorities received a report of a possible suspect loading a long gun and a handgun on a Flex Bus.

Deputies found the bus near New Lisbon and pulled it over.

Officials cleared the bus and ensured all the passengers were safe.

No weapons were found, and no threats were identified.

Juneau County officials believe this incident to be a swatting call, when someone makes a false report to law enforcement in attempt to draw a large emergency response.

Authorities stated these types of calls are dangerous, create unnecessary panic and put both the public and first responders at risk.
