There was a weight lifted off Sequoyah and coach James Teter’s shoulders after they beat Cherokee last Friday to notch Teter’s 98th win, making him the all-time leader in Cherokee County.
There will be a different beast waiting in the wings Friday night as Kell (2-0) makes the trip to Skip Pope Stadium.
“They just have athletes everywhere,” Teter said.
Following Sequoyah’s blowout performance against Cherokee, the Chiefs (2-0) are expecting a much tighter game from Kell. They will try to keep a dangerous Longhorns offense on the sidelines with extended drives and an effective run game.
