INDIANAPOLIS — The city of Indianapolis is addressing infrastructure challenges and promoting safer streets .

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization is putting nearly $2 million into an intersection that's been a trouble spot for years and using grants to kickstart other big projects.

Those federal taxes you pay every time you take your car to the fuel pumps? A portion ends up at the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization. They get about $65 million to fund infrastructure projects around the region, like one southeast Indy intersection.
