SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- A motorcyclist died in a crash on Sprague Avenue in Spokane Valley on Thursday night, according to Spokane County Sheriff's Office.

Around 10 p.m., deputies responded to a crash between a car and a motorcycle on Sprague Avenue near Custer Road.

SCSO said the motorcyclist died at the scene.

Lane closures on Sprague will be in place for the next several hours as officials conduct an investigation. SCSO suggests taking an alternate route if possible.

The lanes are expected to be back open by morning rush hour.

No information about what might have led to the crash has been released.
