Sunday is International Overdose Awareness Day, or IOAD.
It’s a global campaign to end overdoses.
This year, the CDC is highlighting a stark rise in stimulant-related overdose deaths. Their website says stimulants are now involved in most fatal overdoses, often in combination with opioids. They’re urging people to remember those who were lost to overdoses, acknowledge the grief of those left behind, and share prevention strategies.
The day is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdoses, encouraging unity and collective action.
