Jack Brex scored two touchdowns in the opening half to help Kittatinny take a big early lead in its 22-13 season-opening road win over Saddle Brook, in Saddle Brook.
Lucas Inglima started the Cougars’ (1-0) scoring with a five-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter, and Brex followed that with another short rushing score later in the quarter. Brex delivered a 27-yard scoring strike to Mike Strong in the second quarter.
The Cougars brought a 20-6 lead into the half and added on two more points off a sack safety in the fourth.
Dylan Cerciello and Nick Vitiello each had short rushing touchdowns for Saddle Brook (0-1).
