U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kansas, championed a provision that expands Pell Grants to shorter career trainings into the "One Big Beautiful Bill."

The bill, a massive spending bill that reauthorized President Donald Trump's tax cuts and advanced many of the president's domestic goals, includes a provision extending Pell Grants to low-income students in eight to 15-week-long training programs. That's about half a semester or a full semester in an academic year.
