Tre Lamb has been on the other side of Tulsa’s season opener numerous times in his head coaching career — leading a Football Championship Subdivision team with nothing to lose looking to upset a bigger program.
But when the Hurricane opens the 2025 season against Abilene Christian on Saturday at 7 p.m. inside Chapman Stadium, not only have the tables turned on Lamb, the stakes have been greatly raised.
Eight-plus months of staff building, portal hunting and fan outreach can be largely undone with one poor performance against the Wildcats.
