A busy West Lothian road has been closed off following an emergency incident, with buses also diverted from the scene.

Emergency services were called to what is believed to be a crash on Dedridge East Road, Livingston, shortly before 10am on Friday.

Lothian has confirmed its X27, X28 and X40 services are being diverted as the road has been closed off.

A service alert online reads: "Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Dedridge East Road and are instead diverted via Bankton Road and Dedridge East Road in both directions until further notice."

It is understood police and medics are on scene as images show one car with two wheels on the road and the other two on a grass verge at the side of the road.
