The OHSAA girls cross country season is off and running.
The 2024 season was an interesting one for Greater Akron. Several new faces made a big splash by earning All-Ohio honors in their first year of cross country . Team-wise, both Woodridge, CVCA and Wadsworth were able to score top-eight finishes at the state meet.
Who are the runners to keep eyes on in Greater Akron? Here are 10 of the best:
1. Savaya Woody
St. Vincent-St. Mary, Class of 2028
Woody had a freshman year for the ages, becoming the the lone Greater Akron female runner to earn a top-10 finish at the state meet. Running with now-graduated friend Camille Dunifer, Woody finished ninth in Division II in 18.25.59. If Woody is healthy, look for her to be among the top five at state this year.
2. Danzi Jones
Stow, Class
