For those hoping for that last bit of sunshine before we head into September you are in for some disappointment. It's officially time to say goodbye to our summer clothes and drag out the trusty umbrella and raincoat .
The country is set to be hit with a wall of rain this weekend that will make it a very wet end to what is expected to be the hottest summer on record , according to the Met Office.
The UK enjoyed multiple heatwaves and, even though things weren't always quite as hot up here, Scotland basked in glorious sunshine for long periods during the holidays.
