EDISTO, S.C. (WCBD) – A weekend of music and shag dancing returns to Edisto Beach.

The Edisto Music and Shag Fest is a two-day event that includes live music, shag lessons, arts and crafts, and food vendors.

“The shag is the state dance of South Carolina. Make plans now to visit beautiful Edisto and be a part of the very popular annual event,” said event organizers.

This year’s festival will feature three beach music bands: DJ Pat Patterson, Carolina Coast Band, and The Entertainers. There will also be a performance by the Boogie Buddies Carolina Shag Group.

Festivities kick off Friday at Bay Creek Park at 3 p.m., with an arts and crafts fair and food vendors.
