A probe has been launched by police after a cave linked to Robert the Bruce was damaged. The historic cave had graffiti carved into its wall. ‌

Historic Environment Scotland have declared the caves south of King’s Cave a nationally important site. This is due to their variety of uses across thousands of years. ‌

According to the organisation, King’s Cave includes a number of early Christian and medieval carvings. It may also have been used as an anchorite's cell, which is a cell for somebody who lives in seclusion—usually for religious reasons.
