A 60-year-old woman with no criminal record went off the rails and assaulted LCBO employees in Cambridge and Grand River Transit security guards in Kitchener.
“She’s normally very mild-mannered,” defence lawyer Nick Gehl said Wednesday in a Kitchener court.
What triggered the assaults is a mystery.
In March, the woman punched an employee at the LCBO on Holiday Inn Drive and pushed her cart at the manager, which hit his legs, court was told. As she left the store, she knocked over several wine bottles, which smashed on the floor.
In July, the Kitchener woman punched a Grand River Transit security guard on the platform at the LRT stop near Fairview Park mall.
