There are long delays on the M5 after a coach appeared to catch fire, with plumes of smoke pouring from the vehicle.

A passing witness said the vehicle began smoking on the northbound carriageway on the motorway between Exeter and Taunton

They said: "Smoking bus on M5 northbound between Exeter and Taunton." They added that is pulled into the hard shoulder and that, as they were passing, the fire service had not yet arrived.

'Lots of smoke'

Another witness said: "Coach pulled over junction 28 northbound. Lots of smoke coming from it. Fire engine on the way.
